Providence, Boston, Candles, and More!

July 19, 2012
Whoo-eee it’s been a couple of crazy months here.  Here’s what’s coming up:

Firstly, we’re coming back to my homestate tomorrow night!  We’ll be at this great place called Fete in Providence, RI. I am VERY excited to say that my Uncle, Paul Henry, will be sitting in with us on organ and piano.  Uncle Paul layed down keys on my first record, and it has been a dream of mine to have him share the stage with us since.

Friday, July 20th 2012 @ 9pm
Féte
103 Dike St.
Providence, RI 02909
Tickets: $8 – Purchase here

Secondly, on August 10th we’ll be at the Lizard Lounge with our good friends the Daniel Byrnes Band and Casey Abrams and the Mysterious Strangers.  I adore both of these bands and the fine people in them, please come celebrate with us!

Friday, August 10th 2012 @ 9pm
Lizard Lounge
1667 Massachusetts Ave.
Cambridge, MA 02138
Tickets: $8

For these two very special shows, I got together with my old pal and videographer, Patrick Bosworth a few days back made some candles for the merch table! Check out the video!

Some quick, exciting news as well:
We’ve finished filming our first music video!  Can’t wait to share that AND the new song that comes with it!

We have also been asked to play the side stage at the Bank of America Pavillion for John Prine and Lucinda Williams with our close friends Patrick Coman and the Lo-Fi Angels! That’s on August 19th.  Both John and Lucinda are heros of mine, and this is a true honor.  More on that soon too!

Love,
John and the GBF

By some unbelievable stroke of luck and fate, I me By some unbelievable stroke of luck and fate, I met my wife only a year ago this weekend on the 17th floor of the @graduatehotels in Providence for the @sojournerri Masquerade Ball. All year long we talked about heading back to the 17th floor again. With COVID, The Graduate in Providence never reopened and I was ready to spend the weekend together at Castle Blackamore... cheeseballing it up.

Today, @yes.dear took me on a secret car ride and when we stopped we were @graduatehotels in New Haven where we watched the virtual Masquerade Ball. I’ve been out cheeseballed.

This year has been hard on all of us. My wife is incredible and her thoughtfulness has been a bottomless book of matches in the dark. I say it all the time, so much so that I’m sure most of you wish I’d stop already, but I cannot believe how lucky I am.
Proud of these two for all that they do and fight Proud of these two for all that they do and fight for. #vote

Let me tell you a little about my best bud, @cbfie Let me tell you a little about my best bud, @cbfields. For over 20 years we’ve been making questionable decisions with heavy machinery, laughing like idiots at the idiocy of others, investing small fortunes in animals, and most importantly, picking each other up when life couldn’t look worse.

He has sat by my side in hospital beds to cheer me up, he’s helped me with 7 moves in the last 10 years, he didn’t punch me in the face when I drunkenly lit his leg on fire with a marshmallow, and he’s the most kind, supportive, reliable, and perfectly weird guy I’ll know and he has never once asked for anything in return. He went above and beyond for our wedding - it couldn’t have happened without him...

Colin, thank you for everything.

Ladies, by some act of god this man is single. DM for details. ;)
